TikTok LIVE gifts explained: coins, diamonds and payouts
How the chain works
- Viewers buy coins in the app.
- They send gifts to creators with those coins.
- Gifts turn into diamonds on the creator's account, which can be cashed out above a minimum.
TikTok does not publish detailed conversion rates. It is widely reported that roughly half of what viewers spend stays with the platform (and app store fees). That is why we don't include gifts in our calculator.
Who can receive gifts?
Going LIVE generally requires being over 18 and reaching a follower threshold (1,000 in most regions). Rules vary by country; check the LIVE settings in the app.
